Pair of former Hogs 'earned some money' at the Reese's Senior bowl

While the Razorbacks' football season fell short of its potential, a couple of former players stood out at the Reese's Senior Bowl.

The vibe around Arkansas football at the end of the season was as bad as it's been in a long time. Although, for a moment, fans had something to cheer about with a win over Texas Tech. But even that was quashed by some between-the-whistle antics. So, seeing how well the exiting NFL hopefuls played this weekend in the Reese's Senior Bowl might lift some spirits heading into the spring.

Former Arkansas defensive end Landon Jackson and former wide receiver Isaac TeSlaa were some of the standouts among the participants. While at practice, TeSlaa's draft stock rose steadily heading into the game on Saturday. He faced some of the best senior defensive backs in college football but frequently found ways to get open despite the quarterback struggles from Jalen Milroe and Jaxson Dart.

His performance in the game was outshined by TCU's Jack Bech, who caught the game-winning touchdown on top of an excellent performance. However, TeSlaa still had a great game, converting two 2-point conversions as well as making a few key grabs throughout.

While TeSlaa stood out at practice, Jackson did not. In fact, he looked awful. At least, the ones that went semi-viral made him look that way. Nearly every video share of the former Hog was him losing one pass-rushing drill after another. To be fair, if you dig around on X (formerly Twitter), you can find more than a few clips of him tearing it up at practice. However, when it was his opportunity in the spotlight, he didn't disappoint.

Jackson had two tackles and 1.5 TFLs, including a strip sack of SEC rival Dart in the Senior Bowl. Experts and NFL team fan pages were fawning over his performance, undoubtedly raising his stock heading into the NFL draft. Even during the broadcast, one of the announcers said, "Make yourself some money, Landon Jackson," as he strip-sacked Dart. According to USA Today, he was already a projected first-rounder, but his outing on Saturday could push him further up the board for some teams.
