Five-star target Nate Ament taking last official visit to Arkansas

Arkansas basketball's 2025 recruiting class could get a lot stronger with the addition of 5-star power forward Nate Ament, who's taking his final OV to Arkansas.

Arkansas basketball target Nate Ament has officially set an official visit to Fayetteville. The highly-touted five-star will attend the Razorbacks' final home game of the season against Mississippi State.

Last week, Ament dwindled his potential schools down to five. He included Arkansas in his final list with Duke, Kentucky, Louisville, and Tennessee. However, out of the five, Arkansas is the last visit before Ament chooses his future school. That means John Calipari will be the last coach to pitch his school officially.

The 2025 class is already elite, with the No. 5 ranked Darius Acuff from IMG Academy, No. 12 ranked Meleek Thomas from Overtime Elite, and No. 107 ranked Isaiah Sealy from the Razorbacks' backyard in Springdale. It's the No. 4 class, according to 247Sports, but all three commits are guards. Adding an elite 6-foot-9-inch forward like Ament could be the perfect final piece of the Razorbacks' 2025 class. And per 247Sports Class Calculator, adding Ament would put Arkansas above No. 1 Duke in the Class rankings.

Here's a little of what the director of recruiting, Adam Finkelstein, had to say about the talented prospect:

"Ament is one of the best long-term prospects in the country. He's an immense talent and still in the early stages of putting it all together. He has good positional size for a face-up forward at over 6-foot-9 with an elastic body type, albeit a relatively modest 6-foot-11 wingspan. He's a fluid mover, plus athlete, and has tremendous natural hands and touch, which are the foundation of his developing skill-set."

According to nearly every major recruiting outlet, Ament is the fourth-highest-rated recruit in the 2025 class, with a .999 247Sports composite ranking, and he's the second-highest power forward, bested by only Duke commit Cameron Boozer.

Ament will make his final decision on April 1 at the 2025 McDonald's All-American game. Hopefully, he'll follow in the footsteps of a former Razorback who also committed during the All-American game, Anthony Black.
