It didn't take long after James made a name for himself to look for a better option.

Just when things seemed to be on their way up for Arkansas football, the hits kept coming off the field. Today, Arkansas received another. After having a breakout game in the Liberty Bowl, wide receiver Dazmin James has entered the transfer portal.

James didn't make a single reception before his game against Texas Tech, but his first was one for the record books. Arkansas's third touchdown was a program-record, 94-yard strike to the redshirt freshman, putting the Hogs up 21-3. James finished with three receptions for 137 yards and one touchdown before suffering an injury before halftime.

With Andrew Armstrong going to the NFL, the Razorbacks were looking for a new WR1, and before he left, James looked like he could fight for that role. Instead, he's out looking for greener pastures after being buried in the depth chart this season. Arkansas will still have options at WR, with at least four transferring in, but James leaving is still a blow after knowing what he's capable of.

James brings Arkansas's outgoing transfer numbers up to 30, with two walk-ons preceding him.
