Fresh off a 2-10 record and its first winless conference season since the Chad Morris era, it's safe to say that things feel like they're at an all-time low for the Arkansas Razorbacks football team.
However, that hasn't stopped the team from doing its best to rally this offseason. Head coach Ryan Silverfield has made no secret about sending shots ahead of his first season in Fayetteville, and now, it seems as though some of his players are ready to embrace the challenge of competing against the SEC's best.
Caden Kitler is ready for Arkansas' game against Georgia on Sept. 19
During SEC Media Days, Arkansas Razorbacks offensive lineman and projected starting center Caden Kitler made some interesting comments that might turn heads across the conference.
When asked which SEC team Caden Kitler was excited to play for the first time this year, he expressed his excitement about facing the reigning SEC champs.

Caden Kitler: I think Georgia. Georgia is going to be a good challenge for us. They've won a lot of national championships, so it's going to be a challenge. They got a real good d-line, so we're going to have a lot of fun at that game -- being at Fayetteville, of course."
Kitler's comments were by no means disrespectful -- he even took the time to specifically complement the Bulldogs' defensive line -- but they are interesting, considering the Hogs' performance last season. In Caden Kitler's 11 starts (he missed Arkansas' game against Mississippi State), the Hogs went 2-9, suggesting they're likely a long way from regularly competing with national championship contenders like Georgia.

It doesn't take much to become bulletin-board material in college football, so it's totally possible that Georgia head coach Kirby Smart and the Bulldogs took note of Kitler's comments. The Razorbacks will host Georgia one week after traveling to Utah, giving their offensive line precious little time to prepare for one of the most physical defensive fronts in the country.
That said, Kitler was far from being the reason why the Arkansas Razorbacks went 2-10 a season ago. The Arkansas Razorbacks' offensive unit had 500+ yards on six separate occasions, all of which Caden Kitler started on the offensive line. Heading into the 2026-27 season, his performance is one of the few things that the team will want to replicate from a year ago.
Kitler's experience will be particularly valuable against Georgia. The former UCF transfer helped Arkansas produce consistent explosive plays in 2025, and he now has the chance to anchor a unit that must establish Silverfield's offensive identity against an unforgiving schedule.
Kitler is right; competing with Georgia is going to be a challenge. Whether it turns out to be "a lot of fun" remains to be seen, but for now, the Razorbacks should welcome the opportunity.
