As the Razorbacks rest in preparation for the NCAA Tournament, fans just received massive news.
Per ESPN College basketball analyst Seth Greenberg, Arkansas guard Boogie Fland is expected to return to the team after a thumb injury sidelined him for most of the conference season. Fland has not played since Jan. 18. and was previously declared 'out for the season.'
Unfortunately, the Razorbacks were riding a five-game losing streak when Fland was injured. Still, the point guard was one of the top scorers on the team. He put up double-digit totals in eight consecutive games, starting with a 20-point performance against Michigan and ending against LSU.
Fland was on the way to being one of the best freshmen in the country before his injury. In 18 games, the Bronx, NY. native averaged 15.1 points, 5.7 assists, and 1.7 steals a game, shooting at a 39.1-percent clip.
With the Hogs' top scorer, Adou Theiro, out with an injury as well, Fland could offer valuable minutes even if they don't translate to stats on the box score. At the very least, he would offer the main rotation players a rest.
The Razorbacks will learn their seeding on Sunday, March 16. The Selections show starts at 5:00 PM CT.
Per @SethOnHoops, Arkansas guard Boogie Fland is expected to practice tomorrow and will be available for the NCAA tournament -- barring a setback.
