Razorbackers go 'Behind Enemy Lines' with Tyler Sakalys-Moore of LSU Glory
Q: One of the things that separates the SEC from the other Power Four conferences is talent in the trenches. How do you see that matchup shaking out between Arkansas and LSU?
A: Offensively, LSU has the size and skill along the line of scrimmage to dominate just about anyone they face. If there's one spot the Razorbacks could take advantage of, it would be the very inside, matched up against true sophomore center DJ Chester. On the defensive side, however, if you'd asked me this just one week ago, I might have had a very different answer for you, but the Tigers really impressed me with their defensive line performance in week seven.
While I still need to see those kinds of performances on a consistent basis, the depth on the inside of their line has me confident that they can at least continue moving in a positive direction. Still, if Arkansas manages to work the hurry up offense, the young Tiger front seven is certainly susceptible to allowing a big play or two in the ground game.
Q: Taylen Green suffered a bone bruise late in the game against Tennessee, but all signs point to him being healthy for Saturday’s game. While his passing game has been hit or miss, he’s an added weapon to Arkansas’s dynamic rushing attack. How do you think LSU stops the Razorbacks’ ground game?
A: In short, it's all about utilizing their depth. There aren't many special talents along the inside of this LSU defensive line (yet), but what they do have is a collection of bodies who all play right around the same level, which should prove beneficial as the game gets deeper in the second half. I expect the Tigers to keep a quarterback spy on Taylen Green to try and slow him down, but I'd be shocked if we got all the way through Saturday without at least one big run from the Razorback backfield.
