Razorbackers go 'Behind Enemy Lines' with Mississippi State writer Andrew Miller
Q: Mississippi State has gone through three head coaches in three years. How is the fanbase warming up to new head coach Jeff Lebby?
A: Overall there's been good buy-in from the fanbase with Lebby. This is a fanbase that's been desperate to see a consistently exciting offense, and while State hasn't been as strong offensively as we thought they'd be coming into the year, they're starting to find a groove and put an exciting product on the field despite the losses. That's really all you can ask for in year one. The feeling is the right moves are happening off the field as well.
Q: After Blake Shapen went down, I thought Mississippi State was toast. But I’ve been watching Michael Van Buren Jr. play and I like what I’ve seen. What do you think the freshmen will bring to the table on Saturday?
A: MVB has been a ton of fun to watch over these last three games. He's been incredibly accurate throwing down the field, and for a true freshman that's been under plenty of duress from opposing pass rushers, he has no issues navigating the pocket and stepping up to find an open man as opposed to just taking off to scramble. He's also just got some natural play-making ability to make things happen off script. His ceiling is quite high.
