Razorbackers go 'Behind Enemy Lines' with Ole Hotty Toddy site expert Jordan Merritt
Q: Who are some Ole Miss players Arkansas fans need to know before the game?
Tre Harris has taken most of the plaudits at wide receiver, which is understandable. However, sophomore Cayden Lee has been exceptional this season. Ole Miss went into the transfer portal to get several players at the position, but Lee has outshone all of them. Playing mainly out of the slot, he has a knack for getting open across the middle and has been pivotal in vital third-down plays.
Aside from Alabama transfer cornerback, Trey Amos, the secondary, has been hit-and-miss on defense. A physical back with a long reach, he often comes away when quarterbacks throw in his area, breaking up the play. Without Amos, Ole Miss could be in more trouble at the secondary.
Q: Lane Kiffin is probably one of the most entertaining coaches to follow, and he's brought Ole Miss to levels of success never before seen by the program. At year five, what’s the vibe in Oxford right now?
I believe most of the fanbase is still happy with the program's direction. The post-season acquisitions had brought plenty of hype for this season, which, with one more loss, will be seen as a failure. I understand fans' disappointment if the team does not make the playoffs, but the SEC is tough, and the two games the team lost could easily have gone the Rebels' way.
If Lane Kiffin delivers a 9-10 win season, the vibe will still be high going into next season. If the team manages to lose two of its next four games, we may hear some negativity around the program, but it would be unjust, in my opinion.
