Arkansas couldn't have asked for a better start. On Mississippi State's first drive, Landon Jackson strip-sacked Michael Van Buren Jr. deep in Bulldogs' territory, where the Hogs went up by a touchdown early. After a Mississippi State touchdown on the following drive, it's been mainly all Arkansas.
Taylen Green is playing out of his mind, completing 4 of his six passes for 73 yards and a touchdown. He's also the leading rusher with 40 yards and another touchdown. On that score, Green put a Bulldogs defender on skates, making one of the most impressive plays of the season for the Hogs. His second touchdown was through the air to Luke Hasz, who has 30 yards and two receptions. It was a genius play call by Bobby Petrino, that left Hasz wide open on a fourth-down play.
The defense is giving up quite a lot. At the end of the quarter, Arkansas allowed 147 yards of offense compared to 172 for Arkansas's offense. However, the only points State scored came off a luck penalty that extended the drive and a huge missed holding call on Hudson Clark that sprung the touchdown pass. However, the defense is still giving up a few chunk plays.
Arkansas leads 17-7.
