Arkansas starters get the bulk of the production in much-needed win over Missouri

After losing three of their last four games, Arkansas bounced back and got a much-needed win over Missouri, winning 85-92 at home. Missouri came into this game after putting up 110 points against top-ranked Alabama. They were a team playing with confidence and firing on all cylinders. However, Arkansas was at risk of missing out on the NCAA tournament, so they desperately needed this win.

This game wasn't always pretty, but they were resilient enough to get the upset victory. All of the starters stepped up and played well against the Tigers. The offense wasn't always consistent, but there were stretches of the game where they looked incredible.

The Starters

For only the second time in conference play, all five starters scored in double figures. Zvonimir "Big Z" Ivisic had a game-high 20 points, including four of Arkansas' final five points to seal the win. He also recorded four rebounds, two steals, and two blocks. Adou Thiero recorded 11 points, five rebounds, four assists, and two steals before leaving the game due to injury.

Johnell Davis and D.J. Wagner combined for 35 points. The former had four assists and a team-high four steals, while the latter had 3 assists and two steals. Both veteran players are needed to perform well to pull off wins in this conference. Karter Knox has made tremendous strides in his development since the start of the season. He has been impactful in all aspects of the game for the Hogs. He recorded on an efficient 5-7 from the field.

Forcing Turnovers

The Razorback's defense has been a recurring theme throughout the season. They force turnovers and tough shots for their opponents which allows them to have a chance against the best teams in the league. They consistently force double-digit turnovers and are one of the best shot-blocking teams in the nation.

Against Missouri, they forced 18 turnovers, 12 of them coming in the first half. They recorded 11 steals as Johnell Davis led the team with four of them. Arkansas capitalized on those turnovers scoring an incredible 30 points from those opportunities.

Paint Opportunities

Arkansas' offense thrives when they are successful in the paint. They are a drive-heavy team and like to get easier shot attempts close to the basket. The Hogs scored 44 of their 92 points in the paint shooting an efficient 83% in the restricted area. Their physicality down low allowed them to draw fouls and get to the free-throw line often. They attempted an astounding 37 shots at the charity stripe, 20 more than Missouri attempted.
