Top prospect in Arkansas's 2025 class teases SEC team on early signing day
Today is the early signing day for college football 2025 recruits. This morning, Arkansas’s top prospect, Tavion Wallace, had a little fun with his ceremony.
In front of him sat three hats on the table. One was Florida State; the team favored to land him before ultimately committing to the Hogs. The second was, of course, Arkansas, and the third was SEC rival Florida.
The Gators never give up on the four-star linebacker, so what he didn’t next probably heard a few feelings. Wallace initially grabbed Florida’s hat, placed it on his head, and removed his hoodie, revealing a Florida shirt. However, Hogs fans have nothing to fear—it was all just a troll job by Wallace. He quickly threw the hat on the ground, removed the gator gear, and replaced it with Arkansas attire.
To be clear, student-athletes aren’t signing national letters of intent anymore. The NCAA eliminated them earlier this year. Now, they sign deals with the school’s NIL collectives/programs. So far, there haven't been any surprises. All but two prospects have put pen to paper this morning, with the remaining planning to sign in February.
Update: Shortly after his article was published, one of the aforementioned unsigned prospects, Kamare Williams, flipped his commitment to Louisville.
