The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly from Arkansas' 28-21 loss to Missouri
The Ugly: Arkansas' ball security
Turnovers have doomed football teams since the game was invented. That was the case for Arkansas on Saturday, as two costly fumbles changed the course of the game and led to two touchdown drives for the Tigers.
Green was the first Razorback to cough up the football, doing so on Arkansas' second drive of the day. Green's carefree ball security set Missouri up at the Arkansas 40-yard line, and the Tigers took advantage of the short field to take a 7-0 lead eight plays later.
Late in the third quarter, Arkansas held a 14-10 lead after holding Missouri to a field goal. Arkansas needed a long drive to let its defense rest, but the opposite occurred instead. Ja'Quinden Jackson - who accounted for 101 total yards and all three Arkansas touchdowns - fumbled on the first play of the drive, setting Missouri up at the Razorback 34-yard line. After another eight-play drive, the Tigers were in the end zone with a 17-14 lead.
Arkansas' two lost fumbles essentially gave Missouri 14 free points. Rasod Dubinion also fumbled on Arkansas' first possession, and while the Razorbacks fell on the football that time, a three-fumble game reflects poorly on the coaching staff and represents a lack of team discipline.
