We're a couple of days late on this post, but with the way the Hog of the Week played on Saturday, we couldn't let it go without throwing praise his way.

The Hogs went into Starkville after a loss to LSU and metaphorically stuck a flag at midfield, staking claim to Davis Wade Stadium. Arkansas controlled Mississippi State for 60 minutes, winning 58-25. It was the third time this season the Razorbacks gained 600 or more yards of offense and the second time to score more than 50 points.

But none of it couldn't have been done without quarterback Taylen Green. After a season filled with doubters and critics, the Boise State transfer proved how high his ceiling goes.

For weeks, the narrative around Green centered around his athletic ability, but no one respected his arm talent. He displayed both against the Bulldogs. Green threw for 314 yards, five touchdowns, and one interception for a 79.3 completion percentage. Those five scores on Saturday nearly doubled his previous total (6), and 79.3 was his highest completion percentage of the season.

He earned another 79 yards on the ground and a beautiful touchdown, juking two or three defenders out of their socks.

Of course, that's the athlete Arkansas gets in Green, but now we've seen his potential. Fans understand why Offensive Coordinator Bobby Petrino wanted him as QB1. Can Green sustain his success? That's more of a question for the offensive line to answer. When Green has a clean pocket, he can look like a top-3 quarterback at the conference.
