Arkansas will face Mississippi State on Saturday in a must-win matchup for the Hogs. Here are some true and false statements about Saturday's SEC showdown in Starkville.

True: Braylen Russell will get at least 20 carries

With star running back Ja'Quinden Jackson sidelined for this game, Russell will be looked to for help. Mississippi State's run defense has been a sieve so far in 2024, and there's no reason Arkansas shouldn't help continue that trend. Expect the freshman to be thrust into the limelight on Saturday. Russell showed flashes of brilliance late against Tennessee, and there's no reason he shouldn't get at least 20 touches on Saturday afternoon.

False: The game will be decided by one score

Jeff Lebby and the Bulldogs deserve credit for playing better over the last several weeks, but there's no reason an improved Arkansas squad should let a 1-6 foe hang around late, even in an away game in the SEC. There are no free victories in the SEC, but Mississippi State is the closest thing to it in 2024. The game will be tight through three quarters, but Arkansas will pull away in the fourth to score its fifth victory of the season.
