Arkansas returns to the gridiron to play Mississippi State after a momentum-killing loss to LSU. At 4-3, the Hogs need a win to stay comfortable within reach of a bowl game. Without it, Arkansas must find two wins between Ole Miss, Texas, Louisiana Tech, and Missouri, which doesn't seem likely if the Hogs lose to State.

The Bulldogs' starting quarterback, Michael Van Buren, took the offensive reins after Blake Shapen suffered a season-ending injury. The freshman play-caller has brought new life to Mississippi State, leading the team to back-to-back close losses to Georgia and Texas A&M.
