Over the weekend, Sam Pittman quietly snatched up two huge portal additions. The first was linebacker Andrew Harris from UCF, and the second was Jalen Brown from Florida State.
Andrew Harris, Jalen Brown commit to Arkansas football
Seemingly from out of nowhere, the former 4-star Harris committed on Friday. However, he has a history with the Razorbacks, specifically with defensive coordinator Travis Williams. The class of 2023 prospect was recruited by and committed to the Knights when Williams ran the defense at UCF. And when Williams was hired as the DC at Arkansas, he tried to bring him along for the ride.
He saw little action in Central Florida, mainly playing in a special teams role last season and red-shirting his freshman year. In the seven games he played, Harris picked up 14 tackles, including seven solo tackles.
His commitment increases the depth at LB, which desperately needed it. Stephen Dix, Xavian Sorey Jr., and Bradley Shaw are the only LBs with much, if any, experience playing at the Division I level. Only freshmen and Kent State transfer—who never played a down for the Shockers—ride behind them.
Out of high school, Harris was rated a .9087 4-star, according to 247Sports Composite. He was a top-300 recruit and the No. 24 LB in the country.

Arkansas' second commit of the weekend was also a 4-start out of high school, and a highly touted one at that. Jalen brown initially committed to LSU, but after not seeing the field his freshman year, he transferred to FSU. He played in nine games with the Seminoles, hauling in eight receptions for 75 yards.
It wasn't a great season by any stretch of the imagination, but he didn't leave FSU on his own accord. Florida State dismissed the wideout after he was arrested on a third-degree felony charge for possession of a controlled substance.
The Hogs have a cupboard full of WRs, but their coaching staff's late-spring push for another might be a concerning sign heading into the summer. Their initial push for Johntay Cook II came close to landing a wideout of this caliber, but he chose Syracuse instead. But with Andy Jean's commitment, the Hogs have added two SEC-caliber weapons to their arsenal.
247Sport rated Brown a .9640 4-star and a top-100 prospect. He was the No. 12 WR in the nation.

With these two, the Hogs have landed nine transfers in the spring window, including one of the top defensive backs in the portal.
