Arkansas Razorback fans will soon have a new way to live out their baseball dreams, this time with a controller in hand, taking the field in Fayetteville, chasing Omaha, and building a virtual path from college stardom to the major leagues.
MLB The Show 26 Adds Arkansas to Road to the Show Mode
Starting March 17, when MLB The Show 26 officially releases, the Arkansas Razorbacks will be featured in the game’s popular Road to the Show mode. For the first time in nearly two decades, fans can create a player, suit up in Razorback red, and begin their journey from college baseball all the way to the major leagues.
The addition was revealed in the game’s first-look trailer, confirming that Arkansas is one of 11 new college teams joining Road to the Show this year. In total, 19 college programs will be playable, marking a major step forward for the franchise’s college baseball integration.
This also marks the first time the Razorbacks have appeared in a baseball video game since MVP 07: NCAA Baseball, which was released back in February 2007. For longtime fans, it’s a long-awaited return that brings a wave of nostalgia, and excitement for what’s next.
Road to the Show will once again feature the College World Series, complete with its authentic format and bracket, adding even more realism to a mode that already stands as one of the best career experiences in sports gaming. The expanded college presence gives players a true taste of the grind, from campus stardom to the minor leagues, and finally, the big call-up to The Show.
The return of college teams has been made possible thanks to changes surrounding Name, Image, and Likeness (NIL)rules. For years, legal and compensation issues prevented college athletes from being represented in video games across major franchises like Madden, NBA 2K, and MLB The Show. With NIL now allowing players to be compensated, developers can finally reintroduce colleges in a legitimate and player-friendly way.
That means Razorback fans itching to bring a College World Series title to Fayetteville, even if it’s virtual, will finally get their chance. And with Arkansas carrying big expectations into the real-life 2026 season, the timing couldn’t be better.
Whether you’re chasing virtual Omaha glory or dreaming of hearing your name called on draft day, MLB The Show 26 is about to give Hog fans something they’ve waited nearly 20 years for: the chance to become the next great Razorback.
