One of the most intriguing offensive line prospects in the transfer portal is beginning to narrow his focus, and the Arkansas Razorbacks are firmly in the mix.

Oklahoma State tackle Grant Seagren, a highly coveted portal entrant, is set to visit four schools following his decision to transfer, with Arkansas emerging as one of those destinations. According to On3 Sports, Seagren is rated as one of the top offensive tackles currently available in the portal, making his recruitment one of the most important offensive line storylines of this cycle.

Big Move for Razorbacks and Silverfield

If new Arkansas head coach Ryan Silverfield were able to land a talent like Seagren, it would send an immediate message about the direction of the program. Silverfield, tasked with rebuilding the Razorbacks and reshaping the roster culture, could make a major statement by securing a proven, battle-tested tackle with multiple years of eligibility remaining.

Seagren’s path to this point has been anything but conventional. A zero-star recruit out of Oakland, Nebraska, he began his college career as a walk-on tight end at Nebraska. He redshirted as a freshman and saw limited action, playing just 36 snaps across seven games during his redshirt freshman season. Despite the modest beginnings, Seagren’s development trajectory quickly accelerated.

Ahead of his redshirt sophomore year, Seagren transferred to Oklahoma State, where he transitioned into a key role along the Cowboys’ offensive line. In a turbulent 2025 season that saw Oklahoma State struggle mightily and head coach Mike Gundy dismissed midseason, Seagren emerged as one of the few consistent bright spots on an otherwise difficult campaign.

This is not a player who wasn't tested in 2025 either against inferior competition. Seagren spent much of Oklahoma State’s road game at Texas Tech matched up against superstar pass rusher David Bailey, holding his ground against one of the most disruptive defenders in the country. Earlier in the season, he also faced a talented Oregon Ducks defensive front, gaining valuable experience against elite competition. Those reps, taken in less-than-ideal team conditions, only strengthened his evaluation among recruiting analysts.

Grant Seagren: From Under-Recruited to Hot Commodity

National recruiting services have taken notice. On3’s Rivals ranks Seagren as the No. 133 overall player and the No. 6 offensive tackle in the transfer portal, while 247Sports lists him as the No. 174 player and No. 9 tackle available. Combined with On3’s own ranking of him as the No. 2 tackle in the portal, the consensus is clear: Seagren is one of the premier offensive line options on the market.

Perhaps most appealing for Arkansas is the long-term potential. Seagren still has three years of eligibility remaining, meaning he would not be a short-term rental. Instead, he could become a foundational piece of Silverfield’s rebuild, someone who grows alongside the program and helps establish consistency up front. For a Razorback team looking to redefine its identity in the trenches, that kind of stability is invaluable and he could be a key piece to turning things around.

Beyond the measurable traits, Seagren’s ability to remain steady amid chaos speaks volumes about his character. While Oklahoma State dealt with coaching upheaval and significant roster turnover, Seagren continued to show up and perform at a respectable level each week. That resilience is exactly the type of trait Arkansas will prioritize as it looks to reset expectations and culture under new leadership.

With visits looming and competition expected to be fierce, Arkansas has an opportunity to land one of the portal’s most intriguing offensive linemen. Should the Razorbacks ultimately secure Seagren’s commitment, it would represent more than just a recruiting win, it would mark a meaningful step in the charge and change Ryan Silverfield hopes to lead in Fayetteville.
