Arkansas might’ve lost the Baylor game on Saturday, but it won in recruiting on Monday.
John Calipari and the Razorbacks land their second five-star prospect of the 2025 class. Meleek Thomas called the Hogs Monday evening, pledging his commitment to Arkansas. Thomas is a 6–foot–3–inch shooting guard for Overtime Elite. In the spring, he averaged 20.3 points, 5.1 rebounds, and 2.4 assists per game.
Here’s why 247 Sports Director of scouting Adam Finkelstein had to say about the Atlanta native:
"Thomas is one of the most naturally talented and dynamic guards in the national class. He’s extremely confident and assertive, playing with a high-volume scoring mentality. He’s a tough shot-taker and maker, with the versatility to shoot off the dribble, with range, create space for step-backs, or make runners in a crowded lane. He has a creative and polished handle to match. He can attack with pace in the open floor, be very smooth at times, has good use of both hands, and an advanced finishing package."
The talented guard had a bevy of elite offers on the table, including Kansas, Auburn, Kentucky, Pitt, Duke, and Alabama to name a few. In total, he had 23 offers with official visits to Auburn, UConn, Kentucky, Alabama, and Arkansas. However, his decision came down to Pitt, UConn, and Arkansas.
247 Sports rates Thomas as a 0.9972 five-star prospect, making him the best SG in the class and the eighth-best prospect overall. He joins Darius Acuff — another five-star guard — in the Arkansas 2025 class. Thomas' commitment raises the class from No. 56 in the country to No. 14 on 247, but On3 Sports has the Razorbacks as the No. 2 class in the 2025 cycle.
