No. 5 Arkansas opens up the 2025 season against the Washington State Cougars with a doubleheader to start a four-game slate that rolls into Monday. The Razorbacks have set up their 40-man roster but will start the year with two players on the injured list.
Junior RHP Cooper Dossett is going to miss the entire year to recover from Tommy John surgery. He tore his ulnar collateral ligament (UCL) last season on May 18th in the season finale against the Texas A&M Aggies. At first, it was thought that Dossett needed to just rehab, but that was not the case.
Dossett made 14 relief appearances for the Hogs in 2024, with seven being against Southeastern Conference opponents. The Springdale, Ark. native put up a 3-1 record with 20 strikeouts and a 5.17 ERA. He will be taking a medical redshirt this season.
Freshman C Carson Willis will also be out for the season. He is recovering from shoulder surgery and will redshirt.
The first pitch for the first game of the doubleheader is scheduled for noon, and the second game will start 30-45 minutes after the conclusion of game one. Saturday’s game will begin at 2 p.m., and both teams will have the day off on Sunday. The series finale will be on Monday with first pitch scheduled for noon.
