While the first game of the Washington State series was a little too close for comfort, it's been all Hogs since. Arkansas baseball is a game away from completing the 4-game sweep of the Cougars, with a huge tournament ahead of them in Arlington, Texas.
The Razorbacks swept the doubleheader on opening day, with the second matchup ending in a seven-inning run rule, 14-2. Impressively, Arkansas did it without relying on the long ball. All but three RBIs were scored by putting the ball in play, hitting .433 as a team and .333 with runners in scoring position.
While not as great as the day prior, the Hogs were still efficient at the plate in game three. Plus, they showed they still had a love for dingers. Transfer Brent Iredale hit back-to-back solo home runs in the fourth and sixth innings. And later in the eighth inning, Wehiwa Aloy joined the party with a two-RBI shot to right field.
In the three short games, Arkansas has shown the ability to win with the long ball and without it. And in game one, the Razorbacks demonstrated they can grind out a win from behind. With such offensive diversity, it's a far cry from last season's approach, but can they keep it up in game four? Here's how you can watch to find out:
