Arkansas demolished UALR 10-0 in seven innings on Tuesday and will have another chance today. While the midweek games have little impact on the season's outlook, they offer an opportunity to 'get right' before the Hogs have to play another big-time series. Unfortunately, smashing UAPB the week before playing Texas A&M didn't help much with the Aggies, but maybe this week, it will.
Gabe Fraser and Cam Kozeal went crazy against the Trojans, batting a combined .714. However, the story wasn't necessarily about how great Arkansas' hitting was but about UALR's poor fielding. After giving up back-to-back walks and a hit batter in the second, the Trojans failed to pick off Logan Maxwell at first, resulting in an error and the Razorbacks' fifth run of the inning.
Then, in the most exciting play of the game, Justin Thomas hit an RBI triple, bringing in Ryder Helfrick. But because an errant throw landed in the visitor's dugout, Thomas rounded third and went home for what was dubbed by the broadcast announcers as a 'Little League Home Run.'
