The Hogs and Vols met again in one of the most exciting and potentially explosive Super Regionals this season.
The last time they met this year, Arkansas came out on top, but not without Tennessee striking first. In game one of the regular season series, the Vols won after Van Horn experimented with lefty Hunter Dietz in the ninth inning. Arkansas had rallied to within one run, but Dietz gave up three runs and put Tennessee beyond reach.
However, Arkansas bounced back against their ace and current Golden Spikes Award finalist, Liam Doyle. The Hogs put up 11 hits and eight runs against Doyle in only four and two-thirds innings. And in the rubber match, the Razorbacks walked away with an 8-4 victory.
Heading into the Super Regional series, they're arguably the two most talented teams in the country. Both are on upward trajectories compared to the downward spirals they rode into their series in May. And the type of competition fans will see in Fayetteville this weekend could rival anything they see in the College World Series. So, it's not something you'd want to miss.
