The Razorbacks played a late one at LSU, going into extra innings around 1:00 AM Saturday morning. Unfortunately, fans who stayed up to watch went to sleep sad as the Tigers outlasted Arkansas 5-4 in ten innings.
With Arknasas' normally clutch closer Aiden Jimenez on the mound in the seventh and up by two runs, the feelings were good. But the voodoo magic of Alex Box Stadium came alive close to midnight. LSU scored two runs to tie the game, with Jimenez giving up two hits and two walks. The righty's night ended almost as soon as it began, after only a third of an inning and 23 pitches.
To try to salvage the game, Dave Van Horn opted for the former starter, and lately, the first reliever out of the bullpen on Saturdays, Gabe Gaeckle, to put the Tigers away. He did just that in the final two innings of regulation, but the bats, who had done well at the beginning of the game, couldn't put Arkansas over the edge.
The Hogs still have two left to play in the Bayou, and with a win today, they would still have a shot to win the series on Sunday. Here's how you can watch it:
