The Hogs are two wins away from making it to the super-regional round. Next up is the Creighton Bluejays.
Yesterday, Arkansas took care of NDSU, but it looked dicey at times. Dave Van Horn took a gamble putting Aiden Jimenez on the mound to start the regional, and while it didn't hurt Arkansas' chances, it did give the Bison life early in the game. But other than the first two innings, Jimenez was nearly perfect for the next 1.2 innings.
On the other hand, Creighton demolished Kansas, scoring 11 runs on the Jayhawks and limiting arguably the best offense in the Big 12 to four runs. Although, the Bluejays used a 7-run sixth inning to jump ahead of Kansas. Before the sixth, the teams were tied 3-3.
Luckily, Arkansas' bullpen is head and shoulders above the Jayhawks'. If the bats can do better than game one, it should benefit the Hogs.
