Yesterday, the Diamond Hogs made the game a little too interesting, giving up an early 9-1 lead to Charlotte. Thankfully, a fourth-inning, 10-run rally put the Hogs on top, with the final score being 11-10 in favor of the Razorbacks.
It wasn't Arkansas's ace, Gabe Gaeckle's game, as he gave up ten hits and nine runs while only walking one batter. Luckily, the next four pitchers gave up only five hits and a run to allow the offense to shine. In the bottom fourth, the same inning where Charlotte gained its largest lead, Arkansas countered with ten runs, nearly going through the order twice.
Today, left-handed pitcher Zach Root is starting on the mound, and he's been nothing but electric to start the season. The likelihood that the 49ers can have the same start is small with him on the mound. And for the sake of the general health of Razorback fans everywhere, hopefully, that's the case.
