The Bad: Inconsistency in the Kicking Game Continues

This is a small blip on the radar compared to our next topic, but Arkansas' lack of an elite kicker has reared its ugly head time and time again this season. From 2021 to 2023, Hog fans could be all but assured that Cam Little would knock every kick through the uprights. Little made 53 of his 64 field goal attempts during his time in Fayetteville, and was a key contributor during his time with the program. From the start of 2024, his absence has been pronounced.

Kyle Ramsey went 7-12 before an injury against Tennessee knocked him out. Matthew Shipley was then called up, and made his first five kicks, including a 55-yarder on Saturday that got Arkansas on the board. With the Razorbacks trailing 28-10 and an opportunity for Shipley to make it a two-possession game, Shipley pushed a 45-yard kick wide left, killing the little momentum Arkansas had. Ole Miss scored on the ensuing possession, taking a 35-10 lead and officially putting the game out of reach.
