The Slobbering Hog has returned to Bud Walton Arena

Since its removal after the 2008 season, Arkansas fans have wanted to bring back the retro "Slobbering Hog" log to mid-court. Finally, those fans are receiving their wish. Arkansas's athletic director Hunter Yurachek posted on X (formerly Twitter) that the fan-favorite logo is returning to Bud Walton Arena.

Yurachek posted on X, October 2, that the University's collective, Arkansas Edge, received a matching donation of up to $500,000 and that, if the fans raised an additional S500,000, the Slobbering Hogs would be the center logo of Nolan Richardson Court in 2024-25. He also had fun with the fans, partaking in some friendly trolling.

With $100,000 left to raise and less than 48 hours to go, Yuracheck posted again, except this time, a picture of the "Front-facing Hog" logo was photoshopped in the center of the court and the caption "Less than 49 hours remain and not sure about the alternative option." Arkansas's fanbase was not a fan of the logo when it was released, so Yurachek knew exactly what buttons to push, but what's some light extortion between friends, right?

Regardless, the fans followed through on their end of the deal, and the final product looks great.
