When was the last time Arkansas won the NCAA Tournament? (Odds to win March Madness)
By Reed Wallach
Arkansas basketball is having a renaissance under head coach Eric Musselman.
The Razorbacks have made it to three straight Sweet 16’s and will look to make it three Elite Eight’s in a row on Thursday night against the Connecticut Huskies. The No. 8 seed in the West Region, Arkansas is fresh off an upset win over No. 1 seed Kansas over the weekend as the team begins to realize it’s high ceiling.
While the Razorbacks have gotten to the second weekend in three consecutive seasons, the program is still desperate to reclaim it’s Final Four and National Championship form.
When Was the Razorbacks’ Last National Championship
Arkansas hasn’t cut down the nets since 1994 during its golden age of hoops. The team beat Duke in the ’94 title game and went to the Final Four the year after.
The Razorbacks appeared to be the future of SEC basketball, but fell of tremendously after that era as it was Musselman’s 2021 team that broke through and pushed the Hogs to the second weekend for the first time since 1996.
Arkansas’ Odds to Win National Championship
Despite knocking off the No. 1 seed in the region, Arkansas still has a lot of work to do, the fourth choice to come out of the West, behind the remaining teams UConn, UCLA and Gonzaga. This has been the toughest and most talented region by far in the 2023 NCAA Tournament.
If the Razorbacks can string together two more upset victories, they will have succeeded by navigating arguably the most difficult path in the tourney.
The Razorbacks are +4000 to cut down the nets in Houston in two weeks.
