Like it or not, the transfer portal has become a mainstay of the college football landscape in 2022. Every program must engage in the portal to field a competitive team. Arkansas football is no different.
In the following slides, we’ll outline five transfer portal prospects who could come in and contribute to Arkansas football immediately upon their arrival in Fayetteville. But first, let’s discuss what the Hogs could be replacing.
For starters, Arkansas football will lose several impact seniors to graduation and the pro ranks. Players like Dorian Gerald, Bumper Pool, and Ricky Stromberg fit that mold.
There are also the seniors who still have COVID relief availability left, who the Razorbacks would almost certainly welcome back. Names like LaDarrius Bishop, Simeon Blair, Cade Fortin, Jodan Domineck, Luke Jones, Trey Knox, Isaiah Nichols, and Zach Williams litter this list.
Let’s not forget names like Jalen Catalon, KJ Jefferson, and Drew Sanders, who could opt to leave the Arkansas football program early for the big money of the NFL. In addition, Jadon Haselwood, a one-time transfer himself, has already announced he is taking this route.
Arkansas football will need to hit the transfer portal to replace some starters and increase depth for next season.
The transfer portal is also not a one-way street. Arkansas football has announced several players are leaving to seek opportunities at other schools. Some notable names include Reid Bauer, Malik Hornsby, Myles Slusher, and Warren Thompson.
After reading this list of names, which feels as long as something out of The Old Testament, it is clear that Arkansas football will have a much different roster heading into next season. But, such is this era of college football.
But are there any transfer portal prospects out there that the Razorbacks should prioritize? Let’s dive in!
