JD Notae named All-American in advance of Arkansas’ March Madness game
Arkansas Basketball player JD Notae named an AP All-American
For the first time in seven years, the Arkansas Basketball team boasts a player that has been named to either a first, second or third team All-American.
Senior JD Notae was named Third Team All-American by the Associated Press in advance of the Razorbacks’ first game in the NCAA Men’s March Madness tournament March 17 vs Vermont.
The 6’2″ guard averaged 18.4 ppg, 4.5 rpg, 3.7 apg and 2.2 spg throughout the 2021-22 season. He eclipsed the 30-point mark in a single game on three occasions this season: at Texas A&M Jan. 8 (31), vs Mercer Nov. 9 (30) and vs Kentucky Feb. 26 (30).
Notae finished second in the SEC in points per game and first in steals per game during the regular season.
The Hogs have been successful this season, largely, thanks to the excellent play of Notae. Entering the NCAA Men’s March Madness tournament, the Razorbacks are 25-8.
The Covington, Georgia native transferred to Arkansas from Jacksonville State prior to the start of the 2019-20 season He had to sit out that season, but has since competed for the Razorbacks during the 2020-21 season and this season.
Notae joins an elite club of Razorbacks to ever be named a first, second or third team All-American. Here’s a list of former players who are part of this exclusive collegiate club, according to the Arkansas Athletic Department.
