The Arkansas Basketball team has finally concluded their 2021-22 regular season with a record of 24-7 (13-5).
The Razorbacks ended the regular season on a 14-2 run, losing only to Alabama and Tennessee on the road. They lost those two games by a combined five points during the impressive run.
We now turn our attention to the SEC Tournament, an opportunity for any team to win the tournament and receive an automatic bid to enter the prestigious March Madness tournament.
Arkansas Basketball team nets No. 4 seed in SEC Tournament
The Razorbacks have learned that they will be the No. 4 seed in the SEC Tournament, which is set to begin March 9 in Tampa, Florida.
The top four seeds in the tournament don’t have to play until the Quarterfinal round. Which means Arkansas is not scheduled to play until March 11 at approximately 3 p.m. ET.
The exact time for tip-off is unknown, but the schedule lists the game beginning 25 minutes after the conclusion of the 12 p.m. ET game that day.
As for who the Hogs will be playing, that is still to be determined. The Hogs will have to find out who wins the first and second round games in order to learn who their opponent will be.
Arkansas will play the winner of No. 5 LSU vs the winner of No. 13 Ole Miss vs No. 12 Missouri.
Put another way, if Ole Miss defeats Missouri, they will play LSU. If Missouri defeats Ole Miss, they will play LSU. The winner of Ole Miss/Missouri vs LSU will play Arkansas.
If Arkansas wins their quarterfinal game, they will likely face Auburn in the Semifinal game. Auburn will play the winner of No. 9 Florida vs No. 8 Texas A&M.
In order to win the SEC Tournament, Arkansas will have to win three games in three days, likely defeating LSU, Auburn and Tennessee or Kentucky if the top seeds all win their games.
Even if the Razorbacks don’t win the SEC Tournament, they are still projected to have a high seed in the upcoming March Madness tournament.
