Arkansas Basketball: 5 key stats to help explain the loss to Alabama
Chris Lykes’ terrible slump continues for Razorbacks
Senior transfer Chris Lykes started off the season playing outstanding basketball. People were questioning why Musselman was against having him be a starter.
Lykes scored nine or more points in 10 of the first 13 games of the season. In the 11 games since then, he’s eclipsed that mark just twice, which is beyond disappointing.
If the back-up point guard can find his groove and get back to playing like he was early in the season, Arkansas is going to be a very scary team when the SEC Tournament rolls around.
Alabama dominated the paint against the Hogs
The Crimson Tide was able to outscore Arkansas 20-30 in the paint. Because the Razorbacks struggle so often from shooting beyond the arc, they love to shoot the ball inside the paint.
Typically Arkansas is able to finish on top in most games for points in the paint. Perhaps this was just a case of the Razorbacks having a bad shooting day and nothing was able to go down.
You can count on Musselman making this a point of emphasis before the team faces Missouri Feb. 15.
