Arkansas Basketball: 5 key stats to help explain the loss to Alabama
Arkansas Basketball team couldn’t convert points off turnovers
The Hogs had the fortune of forcing Alabama to commit 24 turnovers in the game; however, they had the misfortune of only scoring 22 points off those turnovers.
You don’t expect the team to convert points every time they get a turnover, but it should have been a whole lot more than 22. If the Hogs scored a layup off every turnover, you’d be looking at 48 points. The Hogs have to convert on more of these opportunities.
Especially since this was only a one-point loss, converting a few more of those turnovers for points would have been the difference in a win vs a loss.
Jaylin Williams can do a lot, but can’t do it by himself
Blossoming star player Jaylin Williams had another double-double for the Razorbacks, finishing with a game-high 22 points and a game-high 10 rebounds.
Williams plays extremely hard and leads the team by example in the charges he draws, the toughness he plays with and the composure that he keeps.
Stanley Umude came pretty close to matching what Williams was able to do against Bama (19 points, 9 rebounds), but the production from the rest of the Hogs fell pretty drastically after that.
