Path No. 3: Hogs hope and pray their non-conference opponents finish strong

The Hogs have played a handful of non-conference opponents that could theoretical boost Arkansas’s profile for the selection committee.

Arkansas defeated Cincinnati before Thanksgiving in the Hall of Fame Classic 73-67. As of this writing, the Bearcats are 13-5 and have a big win against a ranked Illinois team earlier in the season.

If Cincinnati continues to play well or even wins the American Athletic Conference Tournament, it would make the Razorbacks win against them look that much better.

A similar argument could be said of Kansas State. Arkansas dispatched the Wildcats 72-64 early in the season. K-State has ranked wins this season over Texas Tech and Texas. This makes the Razorbacks’ win over them even more important.

The same could be said for Oklahoma. While Arkansas did lose that game, if Oklahoma gets some ranked wins or wins the Big 12 Conference Tournament, it’ll also help Arkansas’ resume a little bit.

Trending. Razorback fans will be sick with Joe Foucha's transfer announcement. light
