The Arkansas Football team just landed a major player from the Alabama Crimson Tide via transfer, according to multiple reports.

The player is linebacker Drew Sanders, who competed for Nick Saban and the Tide for the 2020 and 2021 seasons before decided to weigh his options with other teams via transfer.

Sanders was reportedly down to Texas, Oklahoma and Arkansas after making visits to each team in recent days.

The 6’5″ 244 pound player announced he’ll be playing for the Razorbacks, joining Bumper Pool to create a fearsome, dynamic duo that will anchor the defense in 2022.

Who is Arkansas Football player Drew Sanders on the 2022 Razorbacks?

Sanders, a native of Denton, Texas, played sparingly for Saban in Tuscaloosa, appearing in just seven games in his freshman and sophomore seasons.

This season, Sanders recorded 12 solo tackles, 12 assisted tackles, 2 pass deflections and a sack.

He was a highly coveted recruit out of high school, ranked as a 5-star player and No. 22 overall prospect in the Class of 2020, according to 247 Sports.

Sanders was named Dallas Morning News’ Utility Player of the Year in 2019 for his ability to play multiple positions at a high level.

The young athlete projects as a first-round pick in the NFL Draft whenever he decides to go pro, according to 247 Sports. His current NFL player comp is Dallas’ Leighton Vander Esch.

Sanders committing to the Hogs is a huge deal. It’s not often the Razorbacks are able to land 5-star talent outside the state of Arkansas, yet here is Sam Pittman and his coaching staff landing the coveted linebacker.
