The Arkansas Basketball team, led by interim head coach Keith Smart, pulled off the upset of the No. 12 ranked LSU Tigers in Baton Rouge, Louisiana.

The Razorbacks earned the win on the newly christened Dale Brown court 65-58 in a game they trailed most of the way.

Arkansas has won two consecutive conference games and improves to 12-5 on the season.

How the Arkansas Basketball team upset No. 12 LSU on the road

The Hogs overcame multiple stretches in which they could not score the basketball. They ended the first half on a 3+ minute scoring drought. Then, in the early-to-mid stages of the second half, they went on a 4+ minute period in which they could not score any points.

However sophomore Jaylin Williams and senior JD Notae played outstanding basketball to help the Hogs secure the pivotal road win.

Williams was huge on defense, notching four charges and helping the Hogs maintain momentum down the stretch. He hit a game-clinching win with 1:14 left in the game to put the Hogs up by three, 61-58.

Williams finished with 11 points, 13 rebounds, 3 steals, 1 block and an assist— he was everywhere.

Notae was scoring from three levels on the court: beyond the arc, mid-range and at the basket. He led all scorers with 19 points in the matinee game.

Notae’s final stat line was 19 points, 4 assists and 3 rebounds. He had to combat being in foul trouble (4 fouls) and turnovers (3), but was able to guide the Hogs to an upset victory on the road.

The Razorbacks will next host the South Carolina Gamecocks at home Jan. 18 at 6 p.m. on the SEC Network. South Carolina is 10-6 on the season and 1-3 in conference play.
