Pool will afford the Razorbacks a sage veteran to anchor a suddenly depleted defense.
Numerous players have opted for the draft and just as many are transferring to another team.
The 6’2″ linebacker finished the season as the third-leading tackler in the SEC (125), trailing only LSU’s Damone Clark (136) and Tennessee’s Jeremy Banks (128).
In the 2022 Outback Bowl, Pool recorded 4 solo tackles and 1 assisted tackle against Penn State.
Here is what Pool said in his statement, released via his Twitter account:
"Dear Razorback Nation,I want to first start out by saying I am extremely blessed by God’s grace to be in the position I am today. These past four years have been some of the greatest years of my life and they wouldn’t have been possible without the love and support of my family, friends, coaches, teammates and most importantly the Arkansas fanbase.I feel a certain responsibility to the state of Arkansas, the University and my teammates to continue the tradition, standard and legacy that has been set by our football program. With that being said, I am forgoing the 2022 NFL Draft and coming back for my 5th year, WOO PIG!"
Pool, a fan favorite among the Razorback Nation, will give fans one more thing to look forward to in the new season.
