The Arkansas Football team got a huge win the Penn State Nittany Lions in the 2022 Outback Bowl on Jan. 1, 2022.

Arkansas outlasted Penn State 24-10 to get their first bowl game win since 2015 when Bret Bielema was the head coach and the Hogs bested Kansas State in the Liberty Bowl.

Not long after the team won and the celebrations started post-Outback Bowl win, Razorback fans learned that a player has competed in his last game for the Hogs.

Arkansas Football player Montaric Brown has declared for the 2022 NFL Draft

Arkansas cornerback Montaric Brown has decided to declare for the draft after a spectacular season in which he was tied for the SEC leader in interceptions.

Here’s Brown’s message that he tweeted shortly after the game:

"DEAR RAZORBACK NATION,THESE PAST FOUR YEARS HAVE BEEN CHALLENGING AND THE BEST TIMES OF MY LIFE.I’M THANKFUL FOR THE RELATIONSHIPS I HAVE BUILT AND THE OPPORTUNITIES GIVEN TO ME TO RECEIVE MY DEGREE FROM THE BEST UNIVERSITY IN THE WORLD.I’M THANKFUL FOR MY FAMILY, ACADEMICS STAFF AND COACHES FOR THE SUPPORT THEY HAVE GIVEN ME AND FOR GOD TO PUT ME IN THIS POSITION. I WANT TO THANK YOU ALL FROM THE BOTTOM OF MY HEART FOR GIVING A KID FROM ASHDOWN, ARKANSAS AN OPPORTUNITYTO SHOWCASE HIS TALENT AND LIVE OUT HIS DREAM. I WILL FOREVER BE A HOG!I WILL BE DECLARING FOR THE 2022 NFL DRAFT."

Brown earned 5 interceptions this season, recording one against Missouri, LSU, Auburn, Texas A&M and Rice.

He recorded 24 solo tackles, 29 assisted tackles, 5 pass deflections and a forced a fumble this season, his fourth with the Hogs.

The senior from Ashdown, Ark. competed in the 2022 Outback Bowl game with the Razorbacks, helping hold Penn State to just 10 points in the game.

Razorback fans are surely proud to see the longtime Hog play in the bowl game, bucking the trend of players opting-out of competing in their team’s respective bowl games to prepare for the April NFL Draft.

Brown joins Treylon Burks and Tre Williams as Arkansas players who have entered their name in the upcoming NFL Draft.

The Arkansas Razorbacks will now enter the off-season after winning nine games during the 2021 season.
