Jan. 4 vs Vanderbilt

The Commodores (8-4) are led by the son of one of Arkansas’ favorite son’s Scottie Pippen (Hamburg, Ark.). That’s right, Scottie Pippen, Jr. is the leading scorer this season for Vandy.

He’s recorded 23 or more points in four games this season, giving him a season average of 18.1 points per game— the best in the SEC.

Like Mississippi State, Vandy holds their opponents to about 60 points per game, but they have trouble scoring the ball. They’ve only scored 70 points or more in one of their most recent five games.

Hogs will win this one at home in Bud Walton.

Jan. 8, at Texas A&M

Another tough road test for the Hogs, this time at College Station. Head Coach Buzz Williams always has his teams ready to compete. They have notable wins over Butler, Notre Dame and Oregon State this season.

The Aggies have a deep bench, they have 10 players on their roster who average 10 or more minutes of action per game. They’ll be well conditioned and ready to hang with the Hogs.

Hogs win a close one on the road.
