Arkansas football: Latest bowl game projections before finale vs Missouri

CBS Sports is projecting a match-up with the Florida State Seminoles (5-6) in the Gator Bowl.

FSU Head Coach Mike Norvell, who played as a wide receiver for in-state UCA back in the early 2000s, would be an interesting story line for Arkansas fans.

While the Seminoles are 5-2 since Oct. 2, they still need to secure one more win to officially punch their ticket to a bowl game.

The final opponent for the Noles will be a matchup at the Florida Gators, a team that’s struggled mightily this season and fired Dan Mullen before the team’s final game of the 2021 college football season.

Kyle Bonagura of ESPN projects the Hogs playing in Nashville in the Music City Bowl against traditional power house Penn State (7-4).

The Nittany Lions have had an up-and-down season this year, starting off 5-0 with wins against then-ranked No. 12 Wisconsin and No. 22 Auburn. After that, the wheels started to fall off for Penn State, losing four out of their next five games.

A 3-point loss to then-ranked No. 3 Iowa, a 9-OT loss to Illinois at home, a nine-point loss to then-ranked No. 5 Ohio State and a four-point loss to then-ranked No. 6 Michigan.

The Razorbacks know what it’s like to go through a gauntlet of a schedule like that. Fans will want to keep on eye on how Penn State handles their final game against No. 7 Michigan State on the road.
