Arkansas football: The Hogs need these 3 things to happen to beat Bama
No 3. Minimize mistakes and take points whenever you can
Penalties have been the Achilles Heel of the Arkansas football this season. The team has committed a total of 86 penalties this season for a combined 705 yards.
Averaged out, that works out to between eight and nine errors a game for 70 yards. The Hogs cannot get anywhere near eight or nine penalties against the Tide—they’ll make the team pay.
It’ll take a complete effort from all facets of the team, including the special teams. The Razorbacks have one of the best place kickers in the SEC, Pittman will need to lean into freshman Cam Little whenever they get within his range to take the points.
Once again, the Tide will make you pay if you gamble. Going for it on 4th down at the Tide 35 does nothing. Utilize the kicking prowess of Little and take the points. He’s 17 for 21 on the season.
The defense, the offense and the special teams will all have to work together to reduce mental errors and be as close to mistake-free as possible. But, as everyone knows, that’s easier said than done against the Alabama Crimson Tide.
The Arkansas Razorbacks will face the Alabama Crimson Tide Nov. 20 at 2:30 PM CT on CBS.
