Arkansas football: These 3 Razorbacks are up for national college football awards

The Arkansas football team has accomplished a lot this 2021 college football season thanks to a few key standout Razorback personnel.

Many of the key components and the primary reasons for getting the Hogs into this great position are not up for awards or are no longer in the running for an award.

Obviously Head Coach Sam Pittman is the primary reason the team is doing so well. Quarterback KJ Jefferson and Wide Receiver Treylon Burks are a big reason the team is so dynamic on offense. Bumper Pool, Montaric Brown and Myles Slusher have had huge impacts on defense.

We’re highlighting three Hogs who are currently up for currently up for national college football awards.

No 1. Jordan Silver, Arkansas football Long Snapper

Semifinalist for the Pat Mannely award

Redshirt senior and Branson, Mo.-native Jordan Silver was one of the premiere special teams players in the country when he came out of Branson High School. He’s recorded snaps as quick as .68 seconds and at speeds of 38 miles per hour, according to his official roster bio from the Arkansas Razorbacks.

Silver is up for the  Patrick Mannelly Award, which is given to the best senior long snapper in all of college football. Silver has done a superb job of getting the ball to Freshman place kicker Cam Little and Redshirt junior punter Reid Bauer quickly and accurately.

Silver is one of ten semifinalist for the award. A list of three finalists will be revealed Nov. 29 and the winner is to be named Dec. 11.
