The Arkansas football team is playing its best football since the Obama administration and it’s due largely in part to Head Coach Sam Pittman, the charismatic leader/heart-and-soul of this program.

Pittman has been called everything from a real-life Ted Lasso to being one of the most humble and honest person you could meet.

Those are important character traits when you’re on the recruiting trail and attempting to woo high school athletes to commit to what you’re building at Arkansas.

The Razorbacks are hoping to parlay Pittman’s personality and an impressive 2021 season to a windfall of highly-touted high school athletes.

Where does the Arkansas football team stand in the 2022 college recruiting rankings?

According to ESPN’s rankings, the Arkansas Razorbacks are currently listed as No. 25 overall in the 2022 college football recruiting rankings.

Pittman’s hard work seems to have paid off, as seven of the top 10 high school players in the state of Arkansas have committed to play for the Razorbacks.

Pittman has scored two of ESPN’s Top 300 recruits for 2022: OT Andrew Chamblee (No. 234) and S Myles Rowser (No. 295)—both listed as four-star players.

Chamblee, who is a monstrous 6’6″ and 295 lbs, currently plays for Maumell High School in the central Arkansas area. He’s listed as the top-recruit from Arkansas.

Rowser, who hails from Michigan, received offers from no less than 19 teams, according to ESPN. The World Wide Leader lists him as the sixth-best prospect from the state of Michigan.

The Hogs have a commitment from the state’s top-ranked wideout as well, Isaiah Sategna. The Fayetteville High School product originally committed to play for Mario Cristobal and the Oregon Ducks, but recently de-committed and chose to stay home and play for the Hogs.

The Hogs have an opportunity to have several key players return next season. Having some true freshman to learn how to play in Pittman’s system and buy into the culture will be a key component for Arkansas moving forward.

There’s still time to move up the rankings, but so far this is a great-looking list of talent.
