For just the second time in team history, the Arkansas football team has appeared in the CFP rankings.

The first time (and most recent time) the Razorbacks were ranked in the College Football Playoff rankings was almost five years ago to the day. That appearance for the Hogs came Nov. 8, 2016 at No. 25 overall.

On Nov. 9, 2021, the Razorbacks were revealed as one of the teams that are currently in the running to be one of the four teams that make it to the four-team playoff series.

Where did the Arkansas football team land in the latest CFP rankings after upsetting Mississippi State?

Now that the rankings are officially out, the Hogs are listed as No. 25.

Arkansas barely made the cut, finishing just behind Group of Five darlings UTSA (No. 23) and Pac-12 underdogs Utah (No. 24).

The current teams listed in the top-four are Georgia, Alabama, Oregon and Ohio State—in that order.

A total of six SEC teams appear in this rankings. Along with Arkansas, the five other teams ranked are Georgia, Alabama, Texas A&M, Auburn and Ole Miss.

The Razorbacks will have opportunities to climb the CFP ranking ladder if they can finish the season strong with wins over LSU and Missouri. A win against Alabama would be monumental and likely knock them out of the playoffs entirely.

It’s been a long time since Razorback fans have been this proud, prideful and excited. Head Coach Sam Pittman is a big reason for that, creating an environment and culture that allows this kind of success to be possible.

The Razorbacks will try to keep the good times rolling if they can defeat LSU in Death Valley this week. The game is set for Nov. 13 at 6:30 p.m. CT on the SEC Network.
