Arkansas basketball: The 5 best #ProHogs performers from October
No 2. Isaiah Joe, Philadelphia 76ers (Arkansas basketball player 2018-2020)
Isaiah Joe had about as good of an NBA Preseason as anyone could have hoped for in 2021.
He averaged 16.8 points per game on 60% shooting in four game appearances for Philadelphia. He chipped in 2.3 rebounds, 2 assists and 1.8 steals as well.
The Ft. Smith, Ark. native parlayed a great preseason into earning some playing time during the regular season. He’s seeing just over seven minutes of playing time this season, appearing in five games.
So far, in the regular season, he’s struggling slightly. The former Razorback is committing 2.3 fouls per game and shooting 23% from the field.
It remains to be seen how a soon-to-return Ben Simmons will impact Joe’s position in the depth chart.
No 1. Jaylen Barford, Astana Tigers in Kazakhstan (Arkansas basketball player 2016-2018)
Jaylen Barford, the former Razorback basketball standout is currently playing professionally in Kazakhstan.
It’s a small sample size, but so far Barford is lighting it up. He’s averaging 26.7 points per game, 5.3 rebounds and 2.7 steals per game.
Barford has been playing professionally at just about every level since leaving the Razorbacks. He’s played in the NBA Summer League, NBA G-League and a handful of international clubs.
If Barford keeps up this feverish pace, there’s no doubt he’ll be getting the attention of some of the premiere international leagues in Australia, Europe and China.
