Recently fired Georgia State HC Chad Lunsford would be a nice fit for the Arkansas football team as OC. (Reinhold Matay-USA TODAY Sports) /

No 2. Chad Lunsford, former Head Coach at Georgia Southern

Former Georgia Southern Head Coach Chad Lunsford finds himself looking for a reset after being let go as their coach after starting the 2021 season 1-3.

Lunsford had been working as a coach in some capacity for Georgia Southern since 2013, overseeing the wide receivers, tight ends and special teams at various points before being installed as head coach.

He was 28-21 during his time as their coach, leading the Eagles to three bowl games.

No 3. Dowell Loggains, Tight Ends Coach at Arkansas

An intriguing option for the Razorbacks would be to promote from within. Dowell Loggains, currently overseeing the tight ends, would be a terrific option to promote into the role of OC.

Loggains has an impressive resume with tons of NFL experience, giving him instant credibility with the players. Loggains served as offensive coordinator the Tennessee Titans, Chicago Bears, Miami Dolphins and New York Jets.

He has the goods to handle complex offenses and would be a strong choice for Pittman to promote if that’s the route he chooses to go should Briles exit the team.

Even better, Loggains played quarterback for the Arkansas football team from 2000-2004, appearing in 50 games for the Hogs. The man bleeds Razorback red and should be strongly considered if the OC spot opens up.
