Rumors have been circulating this week that Arkansas football Offensive Coordinator Kendal Briles is on a short list of candidates to be the next head coach at Texas Tech.

If Briles decides to leave Arkansas and is hired as the Red Raiders next head coach, the Razorbacks will be looking to fill the vacancy.

There are a lot of intriguing options and it’s likely something that will have to be addressed in the offseason.

Pittman will most likely name an interim OC for the Razorbacks if this scenario happens.

Who replaces Arkansas football offensive coordinator Kendal Briles if he becomes the Texas Tech head coach?

Let’s take a look at five different options that could be solid options for the Razorbacks to consider once the season is over and more candidates become available.

First up is an outside hire from one of the best, if not the best, team in college football this season.

No 1. Dell McGhee, Run Game Coordinator for Georgia

McGhee, who is essentially the coach overseeing Georgia’s running backs, would be an interesting choice to join the Razorbacks. McGhee and Pittman were both on Kirby Smart’s staff before Pittman was hired to be the Head Coach at Arkansas.

McGhee has a great resume and would be more than capable of being handed the keys to an offense after the success Georgia has had with their running backs in recent seasons.

He was instrumental in guiding big-time running backs Nick Chubb and Sony Michele to big college careers and later lucrative NFL careers.

McGhee has previously served in roles as an analyst for Auburn and an assistant head coach for Georgia and Georgia State in previous years.

As a player, McGhee played in the NFL, XFL, NFL Europe and the Arena Football League. He would be bringing with him a ton of knowledge to the Razorbacks and a mindset that would gel with Sam Pittman.
