Arkansas football: 3 boiling hot takes for remainder of the 2021 season
An Arkansas football player will be named a recipient of the Fred Biletnikoff Award
The Fred Biletnikoff award is given to the best receiver in the country, regardless of position. The innagural award was bestowed to Bobby Engram of Penn State in 1994. Since then, it’s been awarded every year to wide receivers, running backs and tight ends who have been the most dominant pass catcher in college football.
Arkansas football player Treylon Burks is on the watchlist for this distinguished award. So far this season, he’s been living up to the hype.
He’s recorded more receiving yards than anyone in the SEC through Week 7, with 628 yards. He’s done it on just 38 catches and 5 touchdowns.
Burks is faster, stronger and taller than the cornerbacks that have been defending him this season, giving him the upper hand in most games.
If Treylon Burks continues to dominate he’ll have a great chance of being named a finalist for the Biletnikoff award and just may walk away with it.
Burks is expected to be a first round selection in the 2022 NFL Draft, according to multiple NFL Mock Drafts.
