Key No. 2. Arkansas football must maximize their depth at running back

The Tigers know the Hogs are ranked third among all SEC teams in total rushing yards. They are going to do their best to be physical and strong and overwhelm our running backs. Fortunately for Arkansas, the team is well-positioned for a rushing onslaught.

The Hogs now have three players with 300 or more total rushing yards this season: Trelon Smith, Raheim Sanders and KJ Jefferson. Two additional players have more than 100 total rushing yards: Dominique Johnson and AJ Green.

If Auburn wears down Smith, then it’s next man up. Sanders will be more than capable of carrying the load. The same goes for Johnson and Green.

Expect Offensive Coordinator Kendal Briles to mix in a lot of different looks to keep Auburn guessing. RPOs, designed quarterback runs and play action can all be used to subdue a tough Auburn defensive line.

If the Hogs get their way, they’ll be adding to their 15 total rushing touchdowns against Auburn.
